EPS S3S series pedestals are used with EPS housings and acrylic products. They are made of 3” square, 11-gauge steel tubing. Pedestals are sandblasted, zinc-plated, and powder coated for enhanced rust resistance. A baseplate, baseplate cover, and flange are included with each pedestal. Pedestals mount to a concrete surface using anchor bolts (not provided). Pedestal dimensional tolerance is +/- ½”. Contact EPS for non-standard sizes or special features.
3” SQUARE STEEL PEDESTALS: SINGLE ARM, PROFILE STYLE 3
Style 3 pedestals have 30-degree arms with lengths ranging from 2” to 12” (2”, 6”, and 12” standard). For longer arms a Style 4 pedestal is recommended. Standard height for automobile access is 36” if the pedestal is mounted on a raised island or 42” if it is attached to the road surface. Heights of 42”- 48” are suitable for walk-up/ADA applications. Heights of 48”- 66” are useful for service vehicles and heights of 72” and above accommodate large trucks.
3” SQUARE STEEL PEDESTALS: SINGLE ARM, PROFILE STYLE 4
Style 4 pedestals are functionally equivalent to the Style 3 pedestals, but they have two-piece arms. The first piece meets the vertical post at a 45-degree angle. The second is horizontal. Standard Style 4 pedestal arm lengths are 6”, 12”, 18” and 24”. For arms shorter than 6” a Style 3 pedestal is recommended.
3” SQUARE STEEL PEDESTALS: DUAL HEIGHT, PROFILE STYLE 3
These pedestals have two arms at different heights to accommodate both cars and trucks. They have the same basic features of the single arm Style 3 pedestals. The height of the lower arm is commonly 36” if the pedestal is mounted on a raised island or 42” if the pedestal is attached to the road surface. These pedestals may be ordered with different upper and lower arm lengths to compensate for different depths of the devices being attached. If arm lengths differ, include lengths with each arm height term. Contact EPS for special sizes and for special features such as side coupling or side wire access hole.

3” SQUARE STEEL TEE-PEDESTALS
Tee pedestals have two forward-reaching arms at the same height. They are commonly used in applications involving a long-range proximity card reader in combination with one or more other devices. The proximity reader is attached to one arm using an EPS acrylic backplate to maintain read range and the other device(s) are attached to the other arm using an EPS steel housing.
