NOTE: The following information is intended to provide an understanding of the attributes and versatility of EPS housings. However, it is recommended that the task of selecting a housing be deferred to the experienced sales staff at EPS. Just let us know the brand and model of each component being used and we will provide the complete part number of an appropriate housing.
SIZE: The panel area and overall housing depth must be sufficient to accommodate the components which are to be installed. The height, width and depth of the housing (at the top) are indicated in the first term of the housing part number.
PANEL POSITION: There must be adequate room behind the panel to accommodate component wiring and the bodies of any flush-mounted components which are attached to the panel. The "depth behind the panel" can range from 1.25" to 2” less than the housing depth, in 1/2" increments (1P, 2P, 2.5P, 3P, etc.). Panel position does not affect price.
MOUNTING STYLE: This is a pattern of holes, generally on the back of the housing, which allows it to be attached to a pedestal flange or other surface. Basic housing price includes 1 standard mounting style.
COMPONENT HOLE PATTERNS: A hole pattern is a set of holes (tapped or clearance) and cutouts for installing a specific product. It has the form -Bxx in the housing part number, where B is generally the first letter of the manufacturer (brand) of the component and xx represents an EPS drawing of the hole pattern detail. EPS will provide the hole pattern designation when the product specifics are known. Component hole pattern prices are added to the basic housing price.
COLOR: Standard finish is white or black powder coat. Special colors are available.
OPTION CODES: Special options include an internal sub-panel for installing a component inside the housing, a hinged front panel (if routine access inside the housing is required) and a panel back frame which allows the use of weather stripping for enhanced weather sealing.
